Responsibilities:

preparation of the City's Development Plan, and development strategies and plans;

collection, systemisation and analysis of business statistics and comparison of the business indicators of Pärnu with the respective indicators of other cities in the Baltic Sea region;

mapping of investment opportunities and presentation of Pärnu's business environment;

planning the perspective layout of the business infrastructure of the City;

management and co-ordination of the City's development projects;

planning and implementation of marketing activities;

organisation of studies necessary for the City's development and collection of statistics for preparing the development-related documents of the City; implementation and analysis of sociological studies as well as management of the commissioning of such studies;

development of tourism co-operation between public institutions, other local governments, tourism operators and non-profit associations; representing the City in international organisations and making the necessary preparations for participating therein; collection and dissemination of tourism information relating to the City;

planning of tourism development and drawing up of development reviews.
