Responsibilities:

  • Provision of assistance to individuals living in the City of Pärnu to prevent, remedy and relieve coping difficulties;
  • contributing to the social security, development and social integration of persons with special social needs;
  • maintenance of the social register of the City;
  • award and payment of state and local social benefits;
  • management of the provision of social services and other assistance;
  • management of guardianship;
  • determining the issues set out in the Family Law Act which are within the competence of the Pärnu City as a guardianship authority;
  • management of the funeral of the deceased who have no relatives;
  • management of healthcare activities.
